Skin Ceuticals: Protect, Moisturize, and Rejuvenate Your Skin This Spring

Skin Ceuticals: Protect, Moisturize, and Rejuvenate Your Skin This Spring

Just as you wouldn’t show up at a spring barbecue in winter’s woolens, you shouldn’t show up with winter’s dry and parched skin, either.  Before a season changes is the best time to prepare your skin to weather the weather. Because we get more than our share of the sun’s damaging UV rays, that means stocking up on sunscreen, too.

At Specialists in Dermatology, in The Woodlands and Houston, Texas, our caring and expert dermatologists know how challenging our dry and sunny climate can be for your skin during spring and summer. We offer top-of-the-line, medical-grade skincare and sun-protection products so that when you break out the shorts, halter tops, and up-dos, every inch of you will be ready.

During your personalized consultation, we evaluate your skin type, quality, and problems. We then custom design a regimen that matches your degree of oiliness or dryness, sensitivity, and whether you have issues you’d like to improve, including flakiness, acne, or signs of aging.

Cleanse without stripping

Before you put on makeup in the morning, and after you take it off at night, wash thoroughly, but gently with warm water and a gentle, hypoallergenic cleanser to remove grime, traces of makeup, sweat, and dead skin cells. Our dermatologists suggest using a soft cloth or a silicone brush to stimulate your skin and wash away debris without irritating your skin.

SkinCeuticals Simply Clean soothing gel gently cleanses, exfoliates, and refines pores whether you have normal, combination, or oily skin. If you’re dry, sensitive, or normal, SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser foam softens your skin while lifting away dirt and debris. Gentle Cleanser helps even out your skin tone and is recommended for post-procedure care.

Infuse your skin with vitamins

After gently patting your skin dry, nourish it with antioxidant serums or retinols designed for your skin type. SkinCeuticals serums combine varying amounts of vitamins A and C, based on your needs, as well as ingredients such as alpha hydroxy acid or ferulic acid to help with healthy skin-cell turnover. There’s even a serum that treats the double-whammy of adult acne and aging signs.

SkinCeutical serums neutralize environmental toxins and free radicals that damage your skin. Just four to five drops twice a day also reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Drink in the moisturizer

There’s precious little moisture or humidity in the great outdoors or in air-conditioned rooms once the weather warms up. Prepare your skin by locking in your moisture and stimulating skin repair. We have formulations for every skin type, from dry to oily. The SkinCeuticals  moisturizers include ingredients such as ceramides and fatty acids to nourish your skin and improve:

We offer SkinCeuticals moisturizers, including:

Emollience

Emollience is a rich, restorative facial moisturizer that contains natural extracts and essential oils, including algae extracts. Emollience absorbs quickly and is best for dry or sensitive skin.

Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2

Triple Lipid Restore is formulated with 2% pure ceramides, 4% natural cholesterol, and 2% fatty acids, making it the the first 2:4:2 cholesterol-dominant ratio to help restore your skin's external barrier and support natural self-repair. Triple Lipid Restore improves skin laxity, texture, and radiance. This unique formula is perfect  for aging, normal, and dry skin types.

In addition to using high-quality moisturizers,  be sure to keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and eating water-rich fresh fruits and vegetables.

Protect yourself

Even if your moisturizer and your makeup both have an SPF of 30 or more, that isn’t enough for the Texas sun. We offer a wide range of sunscreens, from lotions and creams to brush-ons. A few choices include:

Hide the scars

If you have facial or body scars, camouflage them with a unique therapy called Biocorneum® that reduces their appearance, while protecting them from the sun’s harmful rays. Biocorneum features FDA-cleared Silishield™ patented, cross-linked, medical-grade silicone that feels like a second skin as it masks discoloration and evens out irregularities.

The formula also contains an SPF 30 sunscreen. Biocorneum improves the look of both old and new scars, while helping prevent the development of hypertrophic scars.

Get ready to flirt

With rejuvenated, healthy, glowing skin, you’ll be ready to charm everyone you meet. Give yourself extra dazzle by growing lusher, thicker, healthier eyelashes and eyebrows, too. Revitalash® physician-formulated, award-winning serums stimulate growth in your brows and lashes with BioPeptin Complex® technology.
