The full body examination was thorough and quick. Pre-cancer spots were frozen. I recommend them highly.

Based on my prior experience with Specialists in Dermatology, I would answer the question above with a 10. But I had a whole body scan yesterday and was not at all happy with the visit. The provider was Michelle Purtle, and she did not do as thorough a job as I have had in the past. She attempted to freeze a few places on my ears and face, and only one of them blistered up. Also, she also was not as thorough looking at my face and body.
I would like to have another whole body scan done my Jessica Rushing, who I have seen in the past.

Good discussion about the rash condition I’ve already had for 3+ months but no medical intervention to ease the itching nor get rid of it altogether. Was told to get lab work done at Quest – which I did. Now waiting for lab results that per the doctor will probably be inconclusive. my next appointment is 2 months away – October 15th. So I’m on my own to determine how best to treat my rash symptoms in the meantime.

Dr Shook & nurses are the best! Appointments are timely without the extensive waiting. Efficient care. Dr explains what he is doing and the nurses are great in telling me the steps for my Mohs surgery. I appreciate the quality of care and the relationships that develop as you work with their team. Quite unusual that the nurse walks with you to checkout and tells you goodbye at the door when you leave the office! Warm, caring & highly knowledgeable.

I have confidence in my primary doctor at SD, and I was impressed with the surgeon and his nurses yesterday. I appreciate that you stay on schedule and do not keep me waiting for my appointments. I suggest you begin including information about the surgery in a pre-surgery email, so patients have advanced knowledge of what to expect. For example, it would have been good to know I must remain inactive for two weeks after the surgery. Advance information would allow me to plan ahead.

I have my yearly skin check up with Dr. Andrews, and she is very thorough at checking my keratosis issues. I'm glad she makes the removal process quick as well.

Everyone in the office was service oriented and professional. Dr. Norris was professional and friendly. I felt at ease with the procedure before, during, and after.

Hard to make appointment times with Dr. Shook directly so deferred to PA. Learned when you make an appointment you have to be very specific about how many spots you want looked at or else they will not be included in your exam, I found this to be very inflexible especially after driving over an hour one way to get there and paying my deductible. People taking appointments should make this very clear when appt times are setup.

I am seen timeously by very professional and pleasant people, making me relaxed despite the potential for a very serious diagnosis.

Laura is a great esthetician! She educates you on what is best for your skin type and doesn’t oversell the products. I’m all about taking care of my face but if I have a lot of products pushed on me I tend to gravitate away from that service.

The staff and the surgeon were all congenial and extemely knowledgeable. I felt completely comfortable and well cared for the entire time. Dr. Norris and his assistant treated me as a real person, which put me at ease. They knew exactly what they were doing and kept me informed with each step of the procedure. Sitting in room waiting on doctor for 35 minutes in a gown and it’s cold which is not fun. When I went before I only waited maybe 15 minutes which I thought was long enough.

Doctor Shook has dealt with my penchant for attracting skin growths like old ships attract barnacles. Many of these have been cancerous and some required delicate surgery that he has performed with no discomfort to me. Most impressive is his on premise laboratory that enables him to be sure all cancerous tissue has been removed before closing the surgery. Best of all when you call the office one of his caring staff will help you any way possible instead of you being forced to communicate with a machine.

My appointment for the facial was wonderful. I also had an appointment for consultation which I didn't understand that it was a consult I thought injections were available for that day. Then when I checked out I was going to be charged for a consultation. None of this was ever explained. It took so long to check out that I was late to my appointment at home. I wasn't able to make another appointment for injections and called back only to be told that I could no longer have that appointment. I don't know if I have an appointment or not.

I had a consultation appointment only scheduled for a skin cancer on ear. Dr Norris has a busy appointment schedule. Dr. Norris to the time to evaluate and immediately change my appointment to a 2 hr Mohs procedure to remove the spot. Most doctors would have required rescheduling. I am well please with his professional skills, patient concerns and willingness to modify emergency situations.

Long wait time today, once I was in the treatment room. Scan was completed fine. Two biopsies bled A LOT – back some … mostly scalp.

Professional and well organized staff especially my nurse and doctor. Felt very comfortable with the Mohs Surgery. I left with a thorough understanding of care required at home until I return for the removal of the stitches and follow up in 2 weeks.

After having visited a few dermatologists over the years, there have only been two that have been focused on the serious (i.e., not vanity) aspects of the business including skin health and cancer screenings from those of us who grew up in the 70s and 80s. The first one moved their offices to the Hedwig Village area, and Specialists in Dermatology is the second. Very happy with this practice and especially Susannah Andrews PA. who is very thorough and knowledgeable. Great Practice
